PEACEBUILDING AND CONFLICT PREVENTION

Rotary encourages conversations to foster understanding within and across cultures. We train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict and help refugees who have fled dangerous areas.

The Charlotte Dilworth Rotary Club has been a longtime supporter of NewGen Peacebuilders, an initiative to provide our youth in the community with peace and conflict resolution skills. One of the organizers of the program received formal training at a Rotary Peace Center in Thailand.

Locally, in 2019, the Charlotte Dilworth Rotary Club joined the Charlotte International Club in sponsoring a training seminar for the community on how to improve communications between the community and law enforcement. Over 100 people attended.

Currently, our club is recognized as a Peacebuilder Club within our District and we are working with other clubs in supporting recently arrived refugees from Afghanistan.
